Automating Capita SIMS SQL Upgrade
For those of you who follow the Redstor Blog you will know that with Centrastage you can automate the forthcoming Capita SIMS SQL upgrade easily and that many authorities have shown that they can save over 2.5 hours per school by using CentraStage as opposed to doing the upgrade manually.

BETT Show Update
Redstor are exhibiting at the BETT show at stand U23. Despite the snow yesterday we had over 20 pre-arranged partner meetings and numerous schools,academies and service providers dropping by to see us. Of particular interest to them has been Redstor Protector and they liked the fact that 5 key products have been integrated into one compelling solution for total laptop and PC protection. Redstor Protector includes backup, at rest laptop encryption, remote delete, trace and port access control.
Also of interest were the various services which can be delivered through Centrastage such as energy and carbon saving, PC and Server Health Check to name but a few.
We continue to have strong interest in the Redstor Backup Service for Schools, an online backup service, especially with the new version 6 from Attix 5 which underpins the RBUSS service. New features include deduplication of data for more efficient storage.

Redstor launch new data encryption service for organisations!

BETT Show 2010 - SIMS-SQL 2008 Migration
Just before the Christmas break, a Local Authority customer of Redstor demonstrated how easy it is to use Centrastage to update its schools from SQL 2005 to SQL 2008.
As part of the forthcoming Capita SIMS upgrade, schools must ensure they are running the latest SQL 2008 software. This typically would require a manual update of the affected servers by the schools’ Service Partner and is time consuming. Using Centrastage time savings of up to 2.5 hours per school can be achieved for the Service Provider by automating the update process.
